When Tesla released the all-wheel drive version of its leading Model S last fall, the California automaker included a little button that, when pressed, makes a literal “Insane” difference in the car’s performance.

Engaging Insane mode maximizes the output of the car’s dual-motor combined 691 horsepower and 687 pound-feet of torque, giving drivers access to a full G of lateral acceleration capable of hitting 60 mph in 3.2 seconds.
