A city hall meeting being recorded on live television captured the sounds of two newly sworn-in New Hope, Minnesota police officers being shot.

Video from the incident begins with New Hope’s city council discussing a budgetary matter when several shots ring out.

“Shit, get down, get down, everybody get down,” a man, identified by KMSP as Minneapolis police officer John Elder, is heard saying.

“That went right through he door,” another man says.

“If this is being taped go to commercial, go away from this,” a man who sounds like Elder is heard saying as the camera flashes to a frontal view of the city council members. The man also appears to have a gun drawn.

Everyone in the room, including the city councilors and audience members are seen ducking under their chairs.

The two targeted officers are in good condition, according to KMSP. Their shooter was shot and killed by another officer. His motives are unclear.

According to a city council meeting agenda posted online, the two officers that were sworn in on Monday are Joshua Eernisse and Adam Johnson.

According to the meeting agenda, Eernisse and Johnson were being sworn in following a completion of Field Officer Training. They have been with the New Hope Police Department since Jan. 27, 2014.

Police scanner audio captured radio chatter following the shooting.

“We’ve got one down,” one person is heard saying on the scanner.

“Suspect is down,” another person says.

New Hope is about 12 miles from Minneapolis.
