The U.S. has confirmed that Kayla Mueller, a 26-year-old American woman held hostage by the Islamic State in Syria, was killed after the group sent pictures of her body to her family.
Mueller was an aid worker. She went over there to help people. For her trouble, she was murdered by savages. But that wasn’t enough. They had to send pictures of her corpse to her family. I can’t even imagine what her parents are going through, or what sort of monster would put them through this. It’s psychological torture.
And how does the President of the United States respond to this latest act of barbarity? Well, it doesn’t make him angry, because it didn’t happen to him. Nobody hurt his feelings.
It is with profound sadness that we have learned of the death of Kayla Jean Mueller. On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I convey our deepest condolences to Kayla’s family – her parents, Marsha and Carl, and her brother Eric and his family – and all of those who loved Kayla dearly. At this time of unimaginable suffering, the country shares in their grief…
ISIL [He means ISIS. — JT] is a hateful and abhorrent terrorist group whose actions stand in stark contrast to the spirit of people like Kayla. On this day, we take comfort in the fact that the future belongs not to those who destroy, but rather to the irrepressible force of human goodness that Kayla Mueller shall forever represent.
We take comfort in that, do we, Mr. President? The future doesn’t belong to ISIS? Tell that to Kayla Mueller. Tell that to everyone else these bastards have slaughtered. Tell that to all the people whose futures have been cut short by a bunch of 7th-Century shitheads.
The future doesn’t stop belonging to ISIS just because you say those words, Barry. And we haven’t forgotten your previous vision of the future:
But go ahead. Tell us to ignore their “ideology,” and then turn right around and equate this with the Crusades. Tell us all these things are happening “randomly.” Paint a rainbow over the bad thoughts and sprinkle them with glitter. Ride off on your unicorn before those mean Republicans can tell you what a delusional incompetent you are. They’re the real terrorists.
