There comes a point in a man’s life when he should cut his losses and not stick his hand out for shaking.
This would be one of those times.
Here we have MSNBC’s cranky, unpredictable Chris Matthews handing over programming to the ratings challenged Chris Hayes. As some may recall, the Annoying One’s ratings are so bad that his ratings actually improve when he’s not hosting. Matthews and Hayes don’t exactly seem like bosom buddies as evidenced by this painfully awkward interaction.
You practically want to hold your breath from anxiety while you wait to see if Matthews is actually going to shake Hayes’ hand or not.
But points for Matthews. He’s not a phony.
If he doesn’t like you, he’s not going to be all fake about it.
