Bobbi Kristina Brown died Sunday while in a long-term care facility, and now her death is being treated as a murder investigation, a new report says.

The 22-year-old was hospitalized in late January after she was found face down and unresponsive in the bathtub of the Atlanta home she shared with her boyfriend. Police estimate she was underwater anywhere from two to five minutes, and her boyfriend gave her CPR until paramedics arrived.

But now Nick Gordon could be a suspect in Bobbi Kristina’s murder case, TMZ reports. Authorities said “cops are treating the mystery as foul play” and that Gordon continues to be a “person of interest.”

In March, Leolah Brown, Bobby’s sister, wrote an open letter to Dr. Phil claiming Gordon was being investigated for the attempted murder of her niece. (RELATED: Bobby Brown’s Sister: Nick Gordon Is Being Investigated For Attempted Murder Of Bobbi Kristina)

He checked in to rehab for drug and alcohol addiction shortly after.

At the same time Bobbi Kristina was moved to hospice care in late June, her court-appointed representative filed a lawsuit against Gordon, alleging he regularly transferred money out of Bobbi Kristina’s bank account without her knowledge, including $11,000 after she was hospitalized. He was accused of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, unjust enrichment and conversion. Then in early July, one of Bobbi Kristina’s closest friends alleged that her boyfriend “hit and choked her” before she was hospitalized. Alex Reid said Whitney Houston’s daughter would hide in her mother’s closet and call Reid crying after Gordon abused her.
