On Monday’s “Morning Joe,” Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski criticized Hillary Clinton for starting the rumors that Barack Obama was a Muslim and “may not be a Christian.”
Scarborough said it was “rich this weekend… [for] Hillary Clinton to come out and criticize anybody for spreading the rumors about Barack Obama when it all started… with her and her campaign… That Barack Obama may not be a Christian.”
Brzezinski defended Scarborough’s comments in an argument with former congressman and Democratic apologist Harold Ford Jr., who didn’t want to believe that Clinton started the rumors.
“We’re just telling the truth,” Brzezinski retorted.
The “official historian” for the 2008 presidential campaign and author of Game Change John Heilemann definitively said “It was the case” that Hillary Clinton’s team started circulating the the rumors that Obama was in fact a Muslim during the 2008 Democratic primary.
