Though the Mets struck first during Sunday’s Game 5 in New York, KC rallied to put two on the board in the top of the ninth and send the game into extra innings.

The contest marks the first time a World Series has had two extra-innings games since the Diamondbacks stunned the Yankees back in 2001.
Royals infielder Christian Colon — in what was his first at-bat of the 2015 postseason — gave KC the lead in the 12th by singling in Jarrod Dyson. The Royals would go on to add five more runs in the 12th, eventually winning Game 5 by a final score of 7-2.
