Magazine Thought Putting Kardashians On The Cover Would Boost Sales. Boy, Was It Wrong

A magazine thought putting the Kardashians on the cover of one of its issues would boost sales, but something unexpected happened instead.

Sales tanked.

Cosmopolitan put “America’s first family” on the cover for its 50th anniversary in November.

It was the first time the women had been photographed together in four years, and magazine executives surely thought it would their numbers a bump. (PHOTOS: Magazine Declares The Kardashians ‘America’s First Family’)

But according to a new report from Women’s Wear Daily, sales declined that month. Though Cosmo usually sells around 531,086 copies per issue, this one only sold 436,500 copies. (RELATED: Bruce Jenner Just Ruined Kim Kardashian’s News Cycle)
