Ricky Gervais was heavily criticized after he opened up the Golden Globes with a joke about Caitlyn Jenner, but in a series of tweets Tuesday, the comedian said he won’t apologize for his off-color remarks.

“If jokes caused the easily offended to bleed internally, I’d do more standup,” Gervais tweeted.

Do people not realise that when they say they are offended by a joke it makes that joke even funnier for the rest of us.
