Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump said in the debate Thursday South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley was right in calling him an angry voice during her GOP response to the president’s State of the Union address Tuesday.

The way the country is run is horrible and he “will gladly accept the mantle of anger,” Trump said, responding to a question from Fox Business moderator Maria Bartiromo regarding Haley’s swipe at Trump’s proposed ban on Muslim immigrants.

“Yes, I am angry,” he said. “When Nikki said that, I wasn’t offended. She said the truth.”

The South Carolina governor said Americans should not “follow the siren call of the angriest voices” during her response, later confirming the comments were directed at the real estate mogul.

Trump swung back at Haley during an appearance on “Fox and Friends” Wednesday, saying she is “weak on illegal immigration” and, “if she weren’t running, she’d be in my office asking me for money.”
