Speaking at the annual House Democratic conference Thursday, Vice President Joe Biden said that Republicans choosing either Donald Trump or Ted Cruz as the GOP nominee would be a “gift from the Lord” for Democrats.
“I don’t know who to root for more,” Biden told the group of lawmakers. “Cruz? Or what’s that guy’s name? He’s having a fundraiser for veterans tonight, I’m told.”
The vice president also made confident statements about Democrats re-taking Congress in the 2016 election, Yahoo reports.
“I’m confident we’ll win back the Senate, and I think we can make great inroads and maybe win back the House [even though] no one expects it now,” he explained. “But we’ve got to make the case, for Democratic policies.”
