On MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Thursday, the panel lambasted former President Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch for their private meeting together while Hillary Clinton is under FBI investigation.
Last Tuesday, Clinton met for half an hour on Lynch’s government air plane in Phoenix.
Host Mika Brzezinski introduced the topic when co-host Joe Scarborough jumped in: “You can’t make this up.” (VIDEO: Why Did Bill Clinton And Loretta Lynch Meet On Her Airplane In Phoenix This Week?)
Scarborough said, “Boy, this is beyond optics. This is unbelievable.”
Panelist and Bloomberg Politics managing editor Mark Halperin joked, “The good news is it gives Rush Limbaugh material for three hours today. It gives him a lot to talk about.”
Later, Scarborough said, “There is no way you let him come on your plane and talk privately. There is no way.”
Halperin later added that Lynch “shouldn’t have let him on the plane. [Clinton] shouldn’t have wanted to get on the plane.”
Brzezinski expressed doubt about Lynch’s claim that the conversation was “primarily social.”

Halperin added, “It goes back to when [Hillary Clinton] wanted to have her private server. I don’t understand how it could be that no one traveling with either the attorney general for the former president wouldn’t have said, ‘This is a bad idea.'”
Scarborough added, “Even in my little, little, little world in a congressional office, if I ever suggested anything along those lines, I would have 12 people jumping up yelling at me, saying, ‘bad idea, stay away.'”
“First of all, these two people showed the most extraordinarily bad judgment and where was their staff? Who was on the plane with Loretta Lynch to say, ‘You cannot do this’?”
Brzezinski interjected, “I don’t think she needs anyone to tell her that it’s not a good idea. This is so obvious, right? And they didn’t talk about [the email investigation]. Come on. Stop.”
