With the Republican National Convention quickly approaching, GOP lawmakers are gearing up for presumed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s visit to Capitol Hill Thursday.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy told reporters Tuesday he expects the talks to center around the party’s recently unveiled policy agenda titled “A Better Way,” which lawmakers say represents the goals they believe they can accomplish with a Republican in the White House.

“Members will be treated to all different angles and ideas and probably some people will give their opinions and ideas on how to run the campaign,” he said, adding he hopes all members will attend, since it’s a “unique opportunity” for members to ask questions and express concerns.

While GOP leadership has said they plan to vote for the candidate, some top Republicans have expressed their hesitation over Trump’s often brash demeanor.

Trump came under fire Sunday following a tweet referring to likely Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as the “Most Corrupt Candidate Ever” alongside what appeared to be the star of David. Several GOP politicians, including House Speaker Paul Ryan, denounced the tweet, saying “Anti-Semitic images, they’ve got no place in a presidential campaign” during an interview with a New York radio station Tuesday morning.

When asked about his comfort level of Trump being the presumed nominee, McCarthy replied: “I always look for constant improvement.”

Trump is expected to meet with both chambers of Congress separately.

McCarthy will act as a delegate for the state of California at the upcoming convention.

Ryan spokeswoman AshLee Strong confirmed to The Daily Caller News Foundation they will meet Wednesday as a follow-up to the demonstration.
