The man who drove a truck into a crowd of people in Nice, France was stopped when a person “with extraordinary courage” jumped in front of him, a person who witnessed the attack said.
Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, a 31-year-old French-Tunisian, mowed down hundreds during a Bastille Day festival and killed at least 84 people before being shot dead by police. (RELATED: Two Americans Are Among The 84 Killed During Nice Terrorist Attack)

The driver attempted to shoot the person who jumped in front of the truck and that was when police were able to move in and shoot him, Éric Ciotti — a lawmaker for the department of Alpes-Maritimes — said during a radio interview Friday.
“It was at that moment that the police were able to stop the terrorist,” Ciotti said.
“I will never forget the look of the policewoman who intercepted the killer.”
Ciotti said people were jumping into the nearby ocean to escape the truck.
“The scene was terrifying.”
