The Maryland native’s victory in the Men’s 200-meter butterfly — his 21st-career Olympic gold — was his 12th individual title, which tied a 2,000-year-old record set by some Greek dude named “Leonidas.” (RELATED: Critics Said Phelps Shouldn’t Carry The Flag — He Just Won His 25th Medal)

No, not that Leonidas, but his accolades were equally impressive.

According to the Washington Post, Leonidas of Rhodes took home victory in the stadion, diaulos and hoplite races.

In four straight games.

Not bad for a guy competing in his birthday suit.
