Fox Sports personality and Outkick The Coverage founder Clay Travis believes liberals and conservatives are treated by different rules when it comes to free speech.
“There’s definitely one rule at play for the liberal community, and they can get away with having any opinion whatsoever, whether it’s controversial or not. There’s definitely another set of rules at play for the conservative opinions. I’m just a middle of the road guy who is a firm believer in the First Amendment. I believe that you should be able to say whatever you want about anything, and the consequences shouldn’t be your employer decides to fire you because your opinion is different from their’s,” Travis said on his Tuesday episode of “Outkick the Show.”
Travis is speaking from a certain level of experience. He lost an advertisement deal with Jack Daniels for two tweets criticizing Vanderbilt University for removing the word “Confederate” from a campus building at the cost of $1.2 million.
