Kim Kardashian West’s frequent social media posts, including both her whereabouts and photos of her wearing expensive clothing and jewelry, made her an easy target for robbery, according to a security expert.

Christopher Hagon, a former security officer for the royal family, said Kardashian “can’t be low-profile where she’s staying if she’s advertising what she’s doing and advertising her wealth.”

The “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star was robbed at gunpoint in her husband Kanye West’s Paris apartment Sunday. (RELATED: Kim Kardashian Held At Gunpoint And Robbed In Paris)

Five masked men posing as police officers allegedly broke into the Paris apartment, bound Kardashian’s arms and legs and taped her mouth shut before stealing an estimated $10 million worth of jewelry.

“If you’re constantly putting information out there, keeping your name in the public eye… keeping details of your wealth in the public eye then you are… increasing the chances of a possible attack,” Hagon told People Magazine.

“This was an organized attack based on known information,” Hagon told People.

Hagon, who is now a managing partner at Incident Management Group, an international security consulting firm, advised that Kim Kardashian increase her security detail according to her celebrity status. (RELATED: Kim Kardashian Isn’t Taking Any Chances After Being Robbed At Gunpoint)

“Her threat level is high because her wealth and activities are well known,” Hagon explained to People. “If you really are concerned about your personal security then you’ve really got to make it as difficult as possible for people to hone in on you as a possible target.”

After speaking with police following the attack, Kardashian left Paris on a private jet. She is now back in New York with Kanye West and a large security detail.
