Libertarian vice presidential nominee Bill Weld told the Boston Globe Wednesday he is entirely focused on preventing Republican nominee Donald Trump from ascending to the White House in November.

“I think Mr. Trump’s proposals in the foreign policy area, including nuclear proliferation, tariffs, and free trade, would be so hurtful, domestically and in the world, that he has my full attention,” Weld told the Globe.

Weld argued that Trump’s policy platform is so objectionable, it’s “in a class by itself.”

Weld admits that he doesn’t always agree with Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, but insists that everything needs to be done to prevent Trump from becoming president.

Weld asserts that Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson’s foreign policy gaffes have also been especially worrisome, to the point where both Weld and Johnson differ on the best course of action moving forward. Weld told MSNBC last week he was  “not sure anybody is more qualified than Hillary Clinton to be president of the United States.”

“I have had in mind all along trying to get the Donald into third place, and with some tugging and hauling, we might get there,” Weld said Wednesday.

Johnson made the news again Tuesday when he tried to spin his ignorance of U.S. foreign policy to say that he would never get the U.S. involved in another war because he couldn’t find the countries involved on a map.
