Outgoing New York Democrat Rep. Charlie Rangel seemed to be a little confused about what TV show he was on, referring to Tucker Carlson as “Carlton” during an appearance on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Tuesday.

“Congratulations on your new show Carlton,” Rangel said at the start of the segment. Carlson took the mistake in stride, opting not to correct his fumble.

“Ohh, thank you Mr. Rangel,” a slightly puzzled Carlson responded. He then asked Rangel about his latest bill designed to eliminate the electoral college.

WATCH:

Rangel went on to say he would advocate for the cause even if former Secretary if State Hillary Clinton had won the election. President-elect Donald Trump won the electoral college, but Clinton beat him in the popular vote by over 1.5 million votes.

Rangel has served more than 30 years in the House representing Harlem, and is set to retire at the end of this term.
