A White House official has confirmed that Donald Trump’s son-in-law is visiting the country, as first reported by the New York Times Sunday, after he was invited by Dunford. The official didn’t give any other details about Kushner’s visit.
Trump has previously said that he hopes Kushner can broker peace between the Israelis and Palestinians.
The president recently tapped Kushner to lead the White House Office of American Innovation, which will focus on innovating the government and fulfilling key campaign promises while possibly privatizing some bureaucratic functions. Kushner, who reports directly to Trump in this position, said he wants the government to be run “like a great American company.” (RELATED: Trump Taps Kushner To Lead New White House Office On Government Innovation)
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has yet to visit Iraq.
