Gov. John Kasich sidestepped a question about the 2018 midterm elections, stating that he doesn’t care about the politics of health care.

CNN host Jake Tapper asked Kasich if he was concerned that the deeply unpopular AHCA vote would cause his fellow Republicans to lose congressional seats during the midterm elections.

“What I’m concerned about, frankly, Jake, is I’m concerned about how this is gonna affect people who find themselves in a very difficult position,” the Ohio governor responded.

“I don’t know how all the politics will spin out. You calculate that. You get your panel to talk about it,” Kasich asserted. “Bringing politics into this discussion is not something I have any interest in because I’m more concerned about how the policy affects real people.”
