MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough explained for the 10th anniversary of “Morning Joe” that he and Mika Brzezinski couldn’t host a show alone because they are too crazy.
Scarborough said the real “chemistry” on the show is not between him and Brzezinski, but between him, Brzezinski, and Willie Geist.
“Because Mika and me alone–we’re just a little much,” he declared. “We’re just too much…there’s too much crazy there.”
“It’s like two cats in a bag fighting each other,” Scarborough continued. “Willie–you remember what we did? We kicked everyone else off set and it was you, me, and Mika, and everyone was like, ‘oh that’s why we watch the show.'”

Viewers guessed for years that there was a romantic undertone to the relationship between Scarborough and Brzezinski, even though the pair were married to other people when “Morning Joe” started in 2007. Both hosts quietly divorced their spouses as the show went on and finally got engaged to each other in 2017.
