Speaker of the House Paul Ryan is slated to visit Texas and Florida this week to assess the damage caused by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, his office announced Tuesday.

The destruction caused by the storms left the states with billions of dollars in damages. Congress passed a $15 billion disaster relief bill earlier this month to help with initial response efforts.

Ryan is expected to join Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Rep. John Rutherford to meet with FEMA officials and visit Jacksonville, Miami and the Florida Keys Wednesday before traveling heading to The Lone Star State, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Wisconsin Republican will meet with local officials in the Houston area Thursday to survey flood damage, according to ABC.

Congressional lawmakers are expected to pass additional funding bills to further assist the states in repairing the areas affected by the hurricanes.
