CNN’s Van Jones joked with Stephen Colbert Wednesday night that his network avoided the White House Christmas party because they were afraid they wouldn’t make it out alive.

Jones said that if CNN attended the party, it would turn into the “Red Wedding,” a reference to the infamously bloody episodes of “Game of Thrones.” During the episode, a family attends a wedding only to be locked in and murdered by their hosts.
“I think we wouldn’t have made it back out alive, I think it would have been like the Red Wedding,” Jones said.
He also jabbed at the other news networks that decided to attend the event, stating, “I’m sure they had good hors d’oeuvres.”
Jones then got more serious and said that he doesn’t think President Trump believes in the First Amendment.
“Honestly, I think that we’re in a situation now where you have a president of the United States that doesn’t believe in the first amendment,” he asserted. “He has like a peanut allergy to facts.”
