It’s Friday, and that means it’s time to rundown and discuss a few things from the past week and my take on them.

1) Doug Jones beats Roy Moore in Alabama.

I don’t understand why anybody is surprised by this. Moore was maybe the worst political candidate from a major party I’ve ever seen. The guy was a grade-A clown. This wasn’t about Democrats doing something incredible. I could have won the election in Alabama on the Republican side. It was about Moore just being awful. Not exactly rocket science.

2) Is it ever acceptable to get tanked at Christmas parties or should you play it more casual?

I find it rude and disrespectful to be anything but hammered at holiday parties. Our founding fathers didn’t defeat the British so people could act like prudes during holiday parties. Here’s some more free advice. Women are on the prowl during the holiday season. I don’t know why for sure, but I have a few theories. It’s mostly that people like to engage in and romanticize Christmas. This can get annoying, but it has its upside.

It’s like shooting fish in a barrel if you know what you’re doing and the type of woman you’re likely to meet at a Christmas party is probably going to be pretty high.

3) College basketball is in full swing.

We’re about to start getting into the meat of the season. Usually, I’d be very excited for this, but I’m not sure the Wisconsin Badgers could beat a good DIII team at this point. It’s a rough life, but I’m here to battle through. That’s what champions do.

4) “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” is finally here.

Buy a ticket and go see this one. I’ll have more to say about it in the video review. Don’t want to ruin anything right now.

5) Did my list of questions to ask women on a first date dominate the internet or did it dominate the internet?

I did not expect this list to blow up the way it did when I wrote it. Not one bit. I had just gotten into the office, cracked a Mountain Dew and went to work. Turned out people loved these questions. They’re making the rounds around D.C.

I hope people take my advice.
