Co-hosts Vince Coglianese and Stephanie Hamill kicked off the episode by discussing how President Trump’s pick for secretary of state advanced out of committee, despite speculation that he didn’t have enough support.
“Every single Democrat in that Senate Committee voted no. What does say that about the Democrat party? This to me says that they’re just playing politics, all they care about is their narrative, and what they want to do,” Hamill explained. “They’re rejecting a very qualified candidate, someone they supported when he was nominated to the CIA.”
Hamill added that Pompeo will most likely be our next secretary of state, as it appears there are at least three Democrats who say they’ll vote for him.
“Right now as far as we know we’ve got just the three Democrats, Sen. Joe Manchin, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, and Sen. Joe Donnelly, all in reelection battles and they realize the sin in voting against the guy who is leading our North Korea negotiations,” Coglianese asserted.
