President Trump tweeted his condolences to the family of John McCain after the Arizona senator’s passing on Saturday.
“My deepest sympathies and respect go out to the family of Senator John McCain,” Trump tweeted. “Our hearts and prayers are with you!”

McCain, 81, lost his battle with glioblastoma, a highly malignant form of brain cancer that claims more than 95 percent of its victims within five years of diagnosis. (RELATED: John McCain Dies At 81)
The two men had a highly contentious relationship, particularly after then-candidate Trump said McCain was no “war hero” because he had been captured during the Vietnam War.
