Former Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday said there is no “basis” for Democrats to move to impeach President Trump if they retake the House of Representatives next month.
“I hope they don’t,” Biden told Norah O’Donnell Wednesday on “CBS This Morning.” “I don’t think there’s a basis for doing that right now.”
Instead, the current front-runner of a crowded 2020 potential presidential candidate field, said Democrats should “wait until the [Mueller] report comes out.”
“I think we should focus on all the terrible things that are happening now in terms of interest of the middle-class people and working class people,” said the former vice-president, who also criticized the current administration’s policy on unions and environmental protection. “There are so many things to attend to immediately. Let’s see where the investigation takes us,” he said, adding that more Republicans would likely “vote their conscience” against Trump after Democrats retake the House.
