There’s a new Batman movie on the way, but it won’t be getting here anytime soon.

Deadline reported the following late Wednesday:

Warner Bros. is dating their next rendition of Batman for June  25, 2021. This is the one that Matt Reeves has been attached to as writer and director. Ben Affleck, we hear, will not be donning the Dark Knight’s tights after playing the Caped Crusader in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League and that’s because this movie will focus on a younger Bruce Wayne.

Well, Ben Affleck sure didn’t hang around long as Batman. That was a short-lived tenure, to say the least. It’s probably for the best because he was not overly impressive in the role at all.

In fact, I don’t know if anybody will ever be impressive because they’ll always be compared to Christian Bale, who is simply one of the best in the game. (RELATED: Christian Bale’s Story About Meeting Donald Trump Is Laugh-Out-Loud Funny)

The main question now is: Who will play the legendary caped-crusader? I guess it all revolves around how young they go, but there really aren’t too many names that pop right off the top of my head.

Here’s an idea that I think everybody will like. Why don’t we just go back to Christian Bale? Yes, that sure does sound pleasing to everybody.

That’s a better idea than literally any other option on the table.

Obviously, that’s not going to ever actually happen, but we can dream. Hopefully, the people responsible for the upcoming movie don’t screw it up.

That will upset fans everywhere. I can promise you that.
