David McCutcheon was taken into custody Tuesday and is accused of sexually abusing a child for several years beginning when she was six, according to KOMOnews.

McCutcheon, 39, is being charged with 70 counts of first-degree rape, 40 counts of first-degree sodomy and 110 counts of criminal mistreatment, according to KOMO. Police say McCutcheon confessed to all of his crimes. (RELATED: ‘Leave No Rock Unturned’: FBI And Department Of Justice Will Review Death Of Robert Fuller)

Cottage Grove police interviewed McCutcheon on Monday and Tuesday before making the arrest, per KOMO. The district attorney will review the case, on which McCutcheon could face thousands of years of jail time.

According to KOMO, in Oregon, rape carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years, sodomy carries a minimum sentence of eight years, but increases to 25 if the child is under the age of 12.

If prosecutors negotiating a guilty plea in exchange for a reduction of charges and a judge rules that prison counts can be served concurrently, McCutcheon could face significantly less time in jail, per KOMO. A total of his prison time with just the rape and sodomy charges equates to 2,750 years in prison.

The Daily Caller reached out to the Cottage Grove Police Department and left a message pending reply.
