Former Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops is headed to Fox Sports.

According to the New York Post, Stoops is replacing Urban Meyer on the Big Noon Kickoff after the three-time national champion left to take over the Jacksonville Jaguars. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Matt Leinart, who is one of the stars on the college football star, confirmed the news on Twitter.

This is a great hire by Fox Sports. Bob Stoops was one of the best college coaches that we’ve seen over the past 30 years, and he should be solid on TV.

Now, will he bring just as much experience and knowledge as Urban Meyer? Probably not, but that’s okay.

He doesn’t need to be Urban Meyer to be successful. He just needs to be himself.

Plus, the Big Noon Kickoff is already loaded with other talent. Brady Quinn, Charles Woodson, Leinart and Rob Stone are a great crew. While Stoops isn’t Meyer, he’s still a legendary coach with a lot of stories to offer.

More than anything, I’m just ready for the games to get started. College football can’t get here soon enough.
