The law firm representing Brian Flores in his lawsuit against the NFL reportedly has no black partners.

Flores is currently suing the NFL alleging racial discrimination, and his lawsuit has generated a serious amount of attention. However, one thing stood out to “Speak for Yourself” host Emmanuel Acho. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

According to Acho, Wigdor LLP features zero black partners, and after visiting the company’s team page, it does appear that everyone listed as a partner is not black. Furthermore, of the 19 employees listed on the team page, not a single one is black.

I called their offices for confirmation and after several days, I still have not received an official answer about whether or not the company features any black partners or people in leadership.

Now, am I going to sit here and say that there’s something wrong with Wigdor LLP because of the reported racial makeup of the company?

Not at all. I assume the firm hired the best people they could find for the jobs they needed filled. However, this doesn’t look good from an optics standpoint.

As Acho pointed out, how can you sue the NFL for racial discrimination and use a law firm that reportedly has zero high-ranking black employees? It’s a really bad look. It’s hard to square Flores’ logic in this situation.

How can you argue that you care about the racial makeup of an organization, but use a law office that might not have a single black partner? It just doesn’t make sense as Acho pointed out.

I will make sure to update you all if I hear back from Wigdor LLP.
