A man swimming at Lovers Point Beach in Pacific Grove, California, was taken to the hospital after being attacked by a shark Wednesday.
Officials say the attack occurred at 10:35 a.m., about 150 yards from the beach, according to KSBW. The victim was taken to the hospital with major injuries in his stomach and leg.

The beach at Lovers Point and Sea Palm turnout will be closed until Saturday, July 9, police say.
The Coast Guard searched the area for the shark, but did not find it.
Two women were killed by a shark in Egypt’s Red Sea over the Fourth of July weekend. The body of one woman was found just hours after the other woman died of injuries at a local hospital.
