Democratic Texas Rep. Vicente Gonzalez’s campaign paid a blogger who has repeatedly targeted Republican Texas Rep. Mayra Flores with racial stereotypes and sexually explicit attacks.

The Democrat’s Federal Election commission finance report found that the campaign paid the McHale report blog June 24 for “advertising services, NBC News reported. The blog has repeatedly attacked Flores, calling her “Miss Frijoles” 21 times, then “Miss Enchilada” and “cotton-picking liar.”

“We have gone through a variety of nicknames for a person who has been described as a cotton pickin’ liar,” the blog wrote. “She hasn’t taken kindly to being called ‘Miss Frijoles’ or ‘Miss Menudo’ or ‘Miss Pozole’ or ‘Miss Enchiladas.’ In her opinion we at The McHale Report are blatant racists. She obviously has no concept of satire, particularly in the political arena. She might have an argument if we had called her “Miss Spic” as a part of our campaign against her, but when did frijoles become the equivalent of the “N” word?”

Another post stated its concern about spending the night with Flores because of her “rotten p****.”

Jerry McHale, who runs the blog, also wrote “Does Flores want Trump to come & take her p****?” in a May 13 blogpost, before receiving a paycheck from the campaign. He has accused the newly-elected Republican representative as a “Trump fanatic” and vowed to continue eliciting his attacks toward her. Flores called the posts “hateful” and “racist,” then embraced the “Miss Frijoles” name in a Monday tweet.

“My far left opponent, Vincent [Vicente] Gonzalez, hired a local blogger to run hateful & racist ads against me! But, I love frijoles & I grew up eating frijoles. I am not embarrassed of my upbringings & frijoles w/tortillas de harina is simply the best. Here’s to Miss Frijoles 2022,” she said.

McHale and the Gonzalez campaign both deny the money went toward McHale’s attacks on Flores.

“I am a liberal Democrat. And it’s war against the Republican … I’m going to be merciless with her,” McHale told NBC News.

“Of course, the congressman is against referring to Rep. Flores as ‘Miss Frijoles’ or a ‘cotton-picking liar’,” Collin Steele, Gonzalez’s campaign manager, said.

Steele did not respond immediately to the Daily Caller’s request for comment.

The Gonzalez campaign paid the blog $1,000 last year, though the blog was filled with racial slurs and crude language, including the n-word, NBC reported. McHale has said he would attack Flores regardless because she is a Republican, revealing his intention to compare her to Hispanic foods.

“I don’t see it as a racist remark,” he said. “It’s just about food. It’s just satire. It’s just me making fun of her. When does political correctness go overboard?”

First Lady Jill Biden recently apologized for saying Hispanics are as “unique” as “breakfast tacos” during a “LatinX IncluXion Luncheon” speech.

Flores won her seat in Texas 34th district while running in the June 14 special election. The district has historically been dominated by Democrats, representing the apparent departure of Hispanic voters from the Democratic Party.
