LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are a complete disaster in the first three games of their season.

During the Lakers 106-104 loss at home to the Portland Trailblazers on Sunday, LeBron James lined up for an infamous three-point shot from the Lakers logo that caught nothing but air. It wasn’t even a close air-ball. It was probably the worst shot of his basketball career.

With the loss Sunday night and at a very early point in the season, James’ Lakers look like the worst team in professional basketball.

LeBron air-balling a logo three with 14 seconds left on the shot clock is embarrassing. To take a shot that far away from the basket with that much time left on the clock is a good way for anyone else not named LeBron James (or Stephen Curry) to be benched or cut immediately. That sort of shot is unacceptable at the middle school level of basketball, never mind at the highest level of the game.

Despite Los Angeles potentially having three future Hall of Famers in their starting lineup in James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, they are 0-3 and are trending towards missing the postseason yet again. (RELATED: Former NBA Player Says LeBron’s Nike Contract Is Hush Money For China)

The loss to the Trailblazers adds to the long seven-month drought since the last time LeBron James was in the Lakers lineup for a victory. From the looks of it, James will be the centerpiece of the Lakers missing the postseason in three of the last four years — a feat that Michael Jordan could never be a part of.

Someone long ago once said that everything woke turns to crap. LeBron and the Lakers appear to be just the latest example of that.
