Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, who has been pushing to defund the police, spent thousands of dollars on private security for her campaign, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) records reviewed by the Daily Caller.

The FEC report shows Omar’s campaign spent $27,149.20 on “security services” between August and September 2022. The companies providing the security services go by the names Relative Intel LLC and Lloyd Security Services. Relative Intel LLC’s website touts its over 25 years of experience embedded in the private security industry around the world, while Lloyd Security Inc. specializes in residential and commercial security, according to its site.

“Rising from the diverse and progressive Twin Cities metro area of Minnesota, we founded Relative Intel to fill a void in service offerings for those who do not fit the mold of standard clients. Our leadership has spent over 25 years embedded in the private security industry across the United States and abroad,” Relative Intel’s website states.

“We offer quality and precise solutions that meet the specific needs of our clients. In addition to site security and executive protection, we offer high value package transport, private intelligence analysis, and a broad range of training,” the site continues.

The Daily Caller first reported in April 2021 that Omar and members of the far-left group in Congress called “the Squad” spent thousands of campaign funds on private security.

At the time, Omar spent $3,103.61 on her own security in her state of Minnesota, according to her April Quarterly 2021 financial report.

Omar spoke about defunding the police during a June 2020 appearance on CNN, saying the system could not be reformed. “You can’t really reform a department that is rotten to the root. What you can do is rebuild,” Omar said. “No one is saying crimes will not be investigated.” (RELATED: ‘The Squad’ Pushes To ‘Defund The Police’ While Spending Thousands On Private Security To Protect Themselves)

“What we are saying is the current infrastructure that exists as policing in our city should not exist anymore, and we can’t go about creating a different process with the same infrastructure in place,” she added.
