A FedEx driver is in custody Saturday after a tip led authorities to the body of a 7-year old Texas girl that had been missing since Wednesday.

Tanner Lynn Horner, 31, is being held in Wise County jail on capital murder and aggravated kidnapping charges after a tip Friday morning led investigators to believe that he abducted 7- year old Athena Strand from her driveway while allegedly making a delivery to her home, CNN reported. Horner confessed to abducting the girl while in custody Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin stated according to Fox News.

“It’s one of the toughest investigations I have been involved in because it’s a child,” Akin said at a press conference late Friday per Fox News. “Any time there’s a child that dies it just hits you in your heart.”

Strand was reported missing by her stepmother after the child disappeared from her family’s driveway Wednesday evening, launching a desperate search for the young girl across Wise County, near Fort Worth, CNN reported. Her body was recovered Friday evening. Officials believe she was killed within an hour of her abduction, per the outlet.

“Words cannot describe our shock and sorrow at the reports surrounding this tragic event. First and foremost, our thoughts are with the family during this most difficult time, and we continue to cooperate fully with the investigating authorities. At this time, any further questions should be directed to law enforcement,” a spokesman for FedEx told Fox News.

Horner is being held on a 1.5 million dollar bond. As yet, no cause of death has been released, Fox News reported.
