Pornhub released their website’s most popular search terms in 2022 Tuesday, exposing the most highly desired content in America.
The internet porn site revealed that the most searched term was “lesbian” followed closely by “hentai” (Japanese anime porn). Other fun finds included “blowjob,” “cosplay,” and “trans,” according to The New York Post.

Pornhub’s data also revealed the wide popularity of searches for “transgender,” which became America’s fourth-most-viewed category overall, according to the New York Post. “Transgender” porn also saw a total viewership increase of 75% in 2022, due to the fact that top searches are “often influenced by pop culture and other worldwide events,” Pornhub said, according to the Post.
Representatives of the site went on to say that “[m]any [search] terms define 2022 not just on Pornhub but in mainstream media as well.”

Residents in Utah frequently queried up “Mormon” porn, while Oregon viewers searched for “furry” more frequently than most other states. Texans searched the word “panties” at a higher-than-average rate. “Pegging” was popular in Wisconsin. Ohio’s top search was “step-mom.”
Pornhub also uncovered information about how their users were finding the desired content, reporting that a staggering 86% of their videos were streamed from mobile devices in 2022.
The analytics also revealed that Sunday was the most popular day for U.S. viewers to stream X-rated content.
