Republican North Carolina Rep. Virginia Foxx sent a letter Thursday to the Department of Labor (DOL), saying Sec. Martin Walsh is not complying with the committee’s authority to conduct oversight on the agency.

The Daily Caller first obtained the letter, in which Foxx says the DOL and Walsh have ignored three of her inquiries and offered incomplete responses to six other inquiries. Foxx, the chairwoman of the Education and the Workforce Committee, said their responses have been insufficient and that she has not been provided with any of the documents or materials she requested.

Foxx made it clear in the letter that as chairwoman of the committee in the majority, she will no longer allow her inquiries to go unanswered. (RELATED: Republicans Urge Department Of Education To Stop Secret Gender Transitions For Students After 12-Year-Old’s Suicide Attempt)

“One of the most important duties of the Committee is to conduct oversight of the Department of Labor. Secretary Walsh claims he’s eager to facilitate this process, but our inquires to the agency have been systematically ignored or insufficiently answered. Secretary Walsh is giving us the runaround, but I can assure him—and the Biden administration—that we are not easily discouraged,” Foxx told the Caller before sending the letter.

Foxx mentioned that the DOL has not responded to a request for the calendars of senior DOL officials, saying the DOL’s Jan. 27 letter said a response would be forthcoming, however the Committee has not yet received it.

The North Carolina Republican called for a complete response to the outstanding inquiry by no later than March 3.
