BUSTED!

One of the world’s best marathon runners, Joasia Zakrzewski, has been disqualified after using a car during part of a race, according to BBC.

In the 2023 GB Ultras Manchester to Liverpool 50-mile race, Zakrzewski placed third. It appears, however, that she traveled in a vehicle for 2.5 miles of the 50, with GPX mapping data reportedly showing that, at one point in the race, the 47-year-old completed a mile in just one minute and 40 seconds. The world record for a female athlete is four minutes and 12.33 seconds.

The situation is currently being handled by UK Athletics, BBC noted.

Wayne Drinkwater, who is the GB Ultras race director, said that he received information about a runner gaining an “unsporting, competitive advantage during a section of the event” following the ultramarathon.

“The issue has been investigated and, having reviewed the data from our race tracking system, GPX data, statements provided from our event team, other competitors and from the participant herself, we can confirm that a runner has now been disqualified from the event having taken vehicle transport during part of the route,” said Drinkwater. “The matter is now with the TRA and, in turn, UK Athletics (UKA) as the regulatory bodies.”

We’re in 2023 … Joasia Zakrzewski didn’t think about the kind of technology that was on her? And then on top of that, she only finishes third despite cheating with a car? (RELATED: Draymond Green Suspended 1 Game After Stomping Kings’ Domantas Sabonis On Chest)

How embarrassing.
