The trailer for Amber Heard’s new movie, “In The Fire,” just dropped, marking the actress’ official return to film since losing a defamation case brought by her ex-husband Johnny Depp in 2022.

Heard is officially back on the big screen with a leading role in Saban Films’ upcoming mystery, “In The Fire.” The first official trailer for the movie dropped Wednesday and has been viewed nearly 23,500 times. Heard plays an American psychiatrist who travels to Colombia to evaluate a very troubled child who is believed to be possessed by a devil.

The 37-year-old actress filmed the movie before the defamation case with Johnny Depp began to unfold in court in 2022. She spoke to the press at 69th Taormina Film Festival in Italy on June 24, 2023 — prior to the start of the Hollywood writers strike — at the world premiere of the film. “The film is a meditation on the almost supernatural powers of love told through a strong-willed and independent woman at the turn of the 20th century,” she said, according to People.

Heard further commented on her experience on the set of the movie.

“I feel honored to be part of this labor of love and to be the lead in [director] Conor Allyn’s vision,” she told the outlet. “I feel lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing cast. They’re as dedicated and magical as the characters they play.”

The actress described “In The Fire” as “a beautiful movie about the almost supernatural effect and force of love.”

“It is about the boundaries that love can cross and its creation, and really about the overwhelming power that love has,” Heard told People

“In The Fire” will be released in theaters and digitally Oct. 13.
