“The Big Bang Theory” star Kate Micucci released a TikTok video Saturday revealing she was diagnosed with lung cancer and has undergone surgery.
The 43-year-old actress and comedian is most famous for playing the role of Lucy on the CBS sitcom. This is the first time fans have heard about her diagnosis. “Hey everybody, this is not a TikTok, it’s a ‘Sick Tok,’” she said. “I’m in the hospital but it’s because I had lung cancer surgery yesterday. They caught it really early,” she told her fans.

The famous actress explained the bizarre twist behind her cancer diagnosis.
“It’s really weird, because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life so uh, you know, it was a surprise,” Micucci said.
“But also I guess, also, it happens and so the greatest news is they caught it early, they got it out, I’m all good,” she said in the video recorded from her hospital bed.
Micucci promised fans she would be making a triumphant return, despite her medical setback.
“It’s been a little bit of a trip and I’ll probably be moving slow for a few weeks but then I’ll be back at it,” she said. Micucci, an avid painter, expressed her desire to return to her passion.

“Why am I still talking … ‘cause I’m on drugs!” she said, as she lightened the news with a smile and a thumbs up.

Her steps were slow and calculated, but she let out a “whoohoo!” in celebration of the important steps she was taking along her road to recovery.
