A video taken Tuesday showed the harrowing moment a man was rescued from a flash flood that overturned his car in Northern California.

The video captured by California Highway Patrol (CHP) Golden Gate Air Operations shows the moment when one of their female officers was able to rescue a man (we assume) from his vehicle, which flipped over after he tried to drive through a rapidly overflowing creek, according to a Twitter post from AccuWeather.

Rule #1 for all drivers is to not try and traverse a fast flowing body of water. Yes, this video is cool to watch, but the person who needed to be rescued is an idiot, in my opinion. Not only did they put the lives of the rescue team in danger, but they also cost all of us money because they were too ignorant and self-important to practice basic safety protocols.

I get that extreme events happen whenever nature gets mad at us, and there are literally millions of people who’ve been hurt or injured by natural disasters through no fault of their own. (RELATED: Flash Flooding Leaves Las Vegas Looking Like A Movie Set)

The person in this video is not one of those people. And, for the love of God, please make sure you don’t act like this idiot and nearly get yourself killed by doing something so obviously stupid.
