An Arab American in Michigan said President Joe Biden shot his people in the back with his “failed policies” during a Tuesday interview ahead of the Democratic primary.

Democratic Arab activists in Michigan are currently campaigning to vote “uncommitted” on the state primary ballot Tuesday to retaliate against the president’s support for Israel. Palestinian American Layla Elabed launched The Listen To Michigan campaign in the weeks leading up to the primary to send a “clear, sharp message” to Biden, according to CNN.

Mike Hacham, an Arab American voter from Michigan, said Biden “failed” to uphold his promises to the Arab community and will support former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

“Biden has repeatedly lied to my community,” Hacham told Fox News’ Bill Hemmer. “They took our votes for granted within my community, and not only in the Arab community but in the Metro Detroit area. Let’s face it, Biden had made promises and failed on those promises. Biden has constantly lied time and time again.”

He said Biden’s push for an electric vehicle sector has been scaled back and he failed to fix the infrastructure. He added autoworkers and inflation have made families struggle financially. (RELATED: ‘That’s Not What I Said’: Ex-DNC Official Spars With Harris Faulkner About Black, Arab Voters)

Hichem said Biden’s support for Israel or a potential call for a ceasefire will not change his vote for Trump.

“He [Biden] basically divorced us. He basically shot us in the back by his failed policies and promises,” Hichem said. “We need to bring jobs back to America, we need to stop these wars, we need to stop funding these wars and reinvest into cities like Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati. All these cities that need help. We don’t need to be sending money overseas for these endless wars. We don’t need to be supporting countries that are engaging in genocide.”

Young Democratic voters and have raged against Biden’s unwavering support for Israel as war rages on in Gaza, polling has showed. Many young voters have threatened to withhold their vote for the president unless he calls for a ceasefire, according to The Washington Post.

Elabed told CNN her uncommitted vote campaign is a “humanitarian vote” against the war, which has received support from progressive organizations and over three dozen political figures, including Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib.
