Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had an interesting response when asked why he chose to play for Nick Saban.

The Heisman finalist spoke with the media Saturday ahead of the national title game against Clemson, and said “You got to ask my dad” talking about what “swung” him to Alabama.

You can read the full exchange below.

So, is Tua’s dad running his whole life? What is going on here? Usually speaking, players kind of decide on a school if they feel it’s the right fit, they like the women, they like the atmosphere, they like the coaches and they think it gives them a shot at the NFL. (RELATED: Who Will Win The College Football National Championship? Apparently, Tua didn’t have to worry about any of that because his dad was just going to make the decision for him!

I know there are lots of fathers out there who kind of take the lead on the recruitment of their sons, but usually the athletes aren’t this open about it.

Judging from those comments, it sounded like Tua honestly has no idea why he ended up playing for Nick Saban. Sounds like the only person who has any idea is his father.

Like I said, it’s just an absolutely bizarre way to explain your recruitment, especially with the national title game looming large.
