Actor Alec Baldwin implied in a Saturday Instagram video “right-wing hate” prompted the backlash he received for allegedly not complying with a probe into the shooting that occurred on the set of his movie, “Rust.”

Baldwin is said to have discharged a prop gun on the set of “Rust” that killed the film’s cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. In an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos following the incident, Baldwin said he “didn’t pull the trigger.” He also claimed someone put a “live bullet” in the prop gun. A search warrant for Baldwin’s cell phone was issued back in December as part of the investigation.

Baldwin clapped back at critics who insinuated he was not cooperating with the investigation in his Instagram video.

“Any suggestion that I am not complying with requests or orders or demands or search warrants about my phone, that’s bullshit,” Baldwin said. “That’s a lie.”

“This is a process where one state makes the request of another state. Someone from another state can’t come to you and say, ‘give me your phone, give me this, give me that.’ They can’t do that. They’ve gotta go through the state you live in. There’s a process that takes time,” Baldwin continued.

Baldwin asked his fans to “consider the source” of the rumors and asserted that everything related to the investigation would “work out,” despite what the “right-wing rag sheets who are all about hate” indicate.

“The best way, the only way to honor the death of Halyna Hutchins is to find out the truth,” Baldwin said.
