Jeremy Renner posted a video of his sister helping shower him from his hospital bed Thursday morning.
The video appeared as an Instagram story and showed Renner wearing a shower cap while propped up in bed as his sister gently and carefully attempted to give him his first wash in roughly a week. Instagram Stories disappear after 24 hours unless the user chooses to save them.
The Marvel actor appeared to be in good spirits throughout the experience. His sister was all smiles as she helped Renner after his horrific snow plow accident Sunday.
Renner reportedly remains in critical but stable condition at the time of writing.
The actor allegedly faces a long road to recovery, but the shower video was a promising sign of progress. Renner’s injuries included blunt chest trauma and a severe leg injury. Reports also indicated he was visibly bleeding from his head and his leg at the time of the New Year’s day accident, and that the right side of his chest collapsed, according to CNN. The roughly 14,330-pound “snowcat” plow ran over Renner moments after he stepped off the machine to help a family member, according to People. Police later seized the machine and are conducting an investigation into its safety features.
The shower video marks the second time Renner has engaged with his 19.1 million Instagram followers since the incident. He shared a bloody selfie from his hospital bed Wednesday.
