I mean … can anyone blame the kid?

16-year-old Darwin Blanch, who also happens to be American, is set to square off Thursday against the legendary Rafael Nadal in the first round of the Madrid Open. Most teenagers would freak out about a scenario like this, but Blanch?

…he freaked out too! (And understandably so) (RELATED: Relocated Coyotes Are Using A Bracket To Determine Their Utah Name …. But Can We Trust The Public?)

Ranked No. 1,028 in the world, Blanch took to Snapchat to react to the news that he will be playing Nadal — a 22-time Grand Slam winner.

“Guys I play nadal wtf,” posted Blanch with a photo of him in disbelief while his hand is covering his mouth.

With Nadal being 37, he and Blanch are 21 years apart. Prior to Blanch being born in 2007, Nadal already had three Grand Slam titles to his name. This is just Blanch’s second tour level match.

I can’t even blame the kid for his reaction, but at the same time (and I’m sure he is), you gotta be grateful for a situation like this — I mean, damn, you get to play an absolute legend in just your second all-time tour match?

Yeah, that’s pretty damn cool, even if you get blown out. You’re playing Nadal in your second match ever, I’m sure you’ll be forgiven, so no pressure on Blanch.

Just go out and have fun, that’s what I would do. Who knows, you might be able to pull off a mammoth upset, which has been done before against Nadal.
