JJ Redick to the Lakers is looking more and more like a reality.

Rumors have been flying for quite some time now about basketball legend JJ Redick potentially being the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, and they appear to have been right on target. According to a report Tuesday from The Athletic’s and Stadium’s Shams Charania, the purple and gold are “zeroing in” on the former Dukie to be their next skipper. “The Los Angeles Lakers are zeroing in on JJ Redick as the frontrunner for franchise’s next head coach, league and industry sources say,” posted Charania on Twitter.

Since retiring from the NBA as a player, Redick has mainly stayed in the media covering the association. However, there have been rumors throughout the years that Redick could possibly be a head coach in the league, and it looks like he could land the big gig with the Lake Show.

The LA rumors started to pick up when Redick and Lakers superstar LeBron James launched a podcast together.

I feel like this is a good move.

JJ Redick has an incredibly high basketball IQ (he’s intelligent overall), him and LeBron already have a crazy amount of chemistry, and he’s someone that you’d want to have at the helm with the way he carries himself. With that being said … what are you doing to beat the Denver Nuggets? Minnesota Timberwolves? Dallas Mavericks?

In other words, Redick is a solid choice for a head coach, but he won’t be able to do a damn thing without talent. Make sure you’re on that this offseason, Los Angeles.
