The Emmys decided to snub the likes of David Oyelowo, Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman, Sylvester Stallone and a whole host of other A-listers in their 2024 nominations, surprising no one because the Emmys suck.

Not a single Paramount+ or Taylor Sheridan sees got even so much as a mercy-nod in the 2024 Emmy nominations, despite being the best shows on television — so good they brought a whole host of A-list movie actors back to the small screen. But apparently the faceless, talentless, couldn’t-even-land-a-commercial-job-for-hemorrhoid-cream losers at the Emmys don’t like Sheridan’s writing.

There is no Earthly reason why shows like “Lawmen: Bass Reeves,” “Special Ops: Lioness,” “Tulsa King” and more weren’t nominated. Aside from the pristine writing of folks like Chad Feehan (“Lawmen“) and Sheridan (both, and more), the casts of both series were objectively better than ever single other show nominated — except for perhaps D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai in “Reservation Dogs.”

This Emmy nomination list reads like it’s the invitees to the Television Academy chair Cris Abrego’s dream Christmas party. It’s actually borderline cringe. He only got the job this year and clearly he’s bringing absolutely nothing new, interesting or innovative to the table. It was probably smart of former Chair and CEO Frank Scherma to bail when he did. At least he won’t be the one branded as totally Boomer-ing the Emmys to death.

Deadline writer Dominic Patten also seemed surprised that “Lawmen: Bass Reeves” was snubbed from 2024 consideration. Instead of ignoring the elephant, he went so far as to suggest that it was Paramount+ owner Shari Redstone’s fault the Emmys don’t like her network. Me? I think Ms. Redstone is too good for the trash of Hollywood. She’s leveled up her business to make it one of the most popular and well respected by real Americans. And at the end of the day, that is really all that matters.
